Say Cheese!

The Search for a Photographer!

Amazingly enough this was probably one of my crazy bride moments... I was getting almost jealous at Jac for his good choices.  (Crazy Bride moment... I know!) But, it seemed that he was just really good at choosing vendors.  Like he would do the research on a particular vendor then we would end up choosing that one.  I was getting jealous, so I was fighting to use a photographer just because I found them!  After coming to this realization, we sat down and looked at the important topics of these vendors and ended up deciding on George Street!

George Street
Since we could not come in to have a meeting with them, they were really flexible and able to still give us a consulting experience.  First, they sent us over a "Quiz" to take, which was really more about choosing our favorite photo between 4 different images.  They then compiled those answers to see what our style was that we were looking for.  George Street prides themselves with having a photo journalistic approach to photography, which means they try to find the shots that are not always posed, and the shots that really tell the story of the day.

The next step was a phone conversation with one of the consultants where she shared with us a little bit more about the style we like as well as what they could offer us.  During the conversation we were given a link to follow along with her (which was really cool so we had a visual as well).
This is an example of something we saw during our phone session.
She went over all of the packages as well as "extras" we could add-on like a second photographer or photo books.  Something else that is neat is that due to the time that we signed up with them, we get a free 16x20 canvas!  The package that we ended up selecting offers us 10-hours of photography, a disk with all of our digital negatives (so we can reprint as we wish), all images online with access to online ordering (meaning that any photo can be sepia, b/w, and/or color), and a wedding coordinator in preparation for the big day!

Next after our conversation, she emailed us a few links of 4 different photographers portfolio's they have who were all available for our date.  We went through and looked at them and tried to decide who was the best photographer for us.  Once we chose, we sent back our selection to George Street and it was confirmed that Susan will be our photographer!
